So you've found my website. You've been thinking about starting pilates because you're back hurts, or your best friend raves about it or you like the crazy pilates on Instagram. Whatever the reason, you might be asking yourself why should I do this expensive and weird looking exercise trend? Well, allow me to tell you! (spoiler: all pilates teachers are very passionate about why everyone should be doing pilates)

Pilates is an exercise system that strengthens, stretches and balances the body through very specific exercises. These exercises are able to be modified or advanced when necessary. Meaning, pilates is a very tailored experience for the student. Or at least it should be. (Be warned about large capacity reformer classes . Dangerous and stupid.)

Say no to large group classes.... don't be this girl!

Joseph Pilates, the guy who invented this stuff, spent his adult life perfecting his system. He designed and built equipment that is specific to his method. The Reformer is having a moment right now: everyone loves this piece. However, it is only one part of equipment. There is the Cadillac - a large table with springs and bars and a canopy. The Electric Chair ... much more delightful than the name suggests. The Wunda Chair- maybe my favorite. The Baby Arm Chair, the Spine Corrector, the Ped-a-pul, the Foot corrector, the Sandbag, the Neck Stretcher, the Guillotine ..... I do realize that many of these pieces sound like torture devices but I promise you will feel incredible.

Pilates is for everyone. Seriously. I teach people from 8 years old to 89 years young. They all do the same system, the same exercises, just the way JP intended. You will feel stronger, have better balance, more range of motion in your limbs, and improve your anxiety. (And less face it, we need that these days.)

If you've come to this page because you're looking for trendy pilates, then I'm not the right fit. I'm old school classical pilates. I'm going to teach you the original method, which (frankly) is the way to do pilates. There are still fancy bell and whistle exercises with the original method, but there is a reason behind why we teach it and we teach it at the appropriate moment.

Everyone should move their body. We know it's good for you. I think you should make pilates a part of your exercise plan. Why? Simply, because it works.

p.s. I just had Mini Kabob last weekend for the first time. OMG so good! If you are in Glendale, check it out.
